The Beyond Blue Practitioner Directory can help you find medical professionals in your local area who can help support mental health. You can use this directory to find supportive GPs, psychologists, and allied health services.

Orygen Referral is a mental health referral service for people under 25 years old.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health) alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

SANE Australia is staffed by qualified mental health professionals who will provide you with support, information and ideas about where you can go to get help.

Mental Health First Aid Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation that develops and evaluates training programs and trains and accredits Instructors.

Black Dog Institute As the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.

Domestic Violence:

WIRE (Women’s Information and Referral Exchange) we have now extended our service to respond to the needs of non-binary and gender-diverse people as well. We are the only Victoria-wide free generalist information, support and referral service run by women and non-binary people for women, non-binary and gender-diverse people.

Men’s Referral Service Advice for men about family violence. Non-judgmental support for men trying to stop abusive and controlling behaviour.

Substance Use:

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

Narcotics Anonymous is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean.

Counselling Online is a free and confidential service that provides 24/7 support to people across Australia affected by alcohol or drug use.

The Victorian Doctors Health Program is a free, confidential service for all doctors and medical students who have concerns about their well-being such as stress, mental health problems, substance use problems, or any other health issues.
