Electives

Medical students at the University of Melbourne have the option to undertake a voluntary clinical elective, allowing them to explore an unfamiliar area or setting of clinical medicine and broaden their understanding of health care. Students often take this opportunity to learn about a specialist field that interests them while travelling interstate or overseas at the same time.

“My main motivation was to experience the practice of medicine in another country, particularly one where the health system is considerably different from that of Australia”
