Biggest Morning Tea, 24 May 2012
Biggest Morning Tea was a great success! Had an excellent morning with MUHI feeding hungry students and raised $346 for the Cancer Council! Thanks to everyone who provided baked goods. Also thanks to MUHI for providing tea. Cheers!
World Vision Sponsored Child
UMMSS has been sponsoring children through World Vision since 2002.
Currently, UMMSS sponsors Sandra Namata, a 8 year old girl living in the Wabinyonyi Area in Uganda. Sandra lives with her parents and two sisters and enjoy ball games.
The World Vision program aims to develop the community as a whole as well as ensure that children in the region are educated and trained to become independent. While some money goes to community development, we mainly cover Sandra's schooling costs and medical care as well as her training in agriculture to ensure sustainable farming.

We call on the Australian Government to:
- Develop in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their representative bodies a comprehensive National Action Plan to achieve Indigenous health equality.
- Increase Indigenous participation and community control in the delivery of health services
- Address critical social issues such as housing, education and self-determination which contribute to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island health crisis.
